Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects 1 in 88 children. Characterized by impairments in language and socialization and restrictive and repetitive behaviors, ASD manifests itself in a variety of behavioral deficits and excesses. More than 100 years of research support Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as a reliable treatment option. The purpose of this training is to explore ASD and show examples of how it manifests within an individual. The principles and procedures of ABA will be broken down in detail to show therapists how early intensive behavioral treatment can be used as a successful treatment for autism.
