Dr. Amber Valentino | Executive Director of Research & Clinical Standards
Amber Valentino, Psy.D, BCBA-D, received a doctorate in clinical psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed a pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Marcus Autism Center/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. After completion of her post-doctoral fellowship, she remained at the Marcus Autism Center for three years, where she served as a senior psychologist and program coordinator, overseeing a large community autism training program and providing clinical leadership to the intensive language clinic.
Since joining Trumpet in 2012, Dr. Valentino has held various roles, most recently serving as Assistant Director of Clinical Services and Research, working under the direct mentorship of Dr. Linda LeBlanc. As Executive Director of Research and Clinical Standards she is responsible for coordinating Trumpet research initiatives, maintaining and further developing the company’s clinical standards and directing all training functions. Dr. Layla Sump | Director of Training
Layla Sump, Ph.D., BCBA-D, received a doctorate in special education from Texas Tech University, Texas, under the advisement and mentorship of Dr. David Richman. While completing her doctoral program, she joined Trumpet Behavioral Health as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in 2014, under the advisement and mentorship of Dr. Linda LeBlanc. In 2015, she became the Clinical Director of Trumpet's San Francisco Peninsula Division, where she remained for almost 2 years. In 2016, Dr. Sump joined the Training team as the Director of Training.
Dr. Sump has authored a book chapter and several publications in peer-review journals including at the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Research in Developmental Disabilities, Journal of Intellectual Disability Research, Journal of Developmental and Physical Disabilities, and Journal of Mental Health Research in Intellectual Disabilities. She has also presented her research at national and international conferences. Dr. Sump has served as a guest reviewer for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, and Journal of Behavioral Education.
Ramsey Porta, BCBA | E-Learning Manager
Ramsey Porta, M.S., BCBA is the E-Learning Lead Content Developer for Trumpet Learning Center. Ramsey earned her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis in Developmental Disabilities from Auburn University in 2009. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2009 and has been working with individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities since 2004. Throughout her time as a BCBA, Ramsey has provided direct services to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, as well as provided behavior analytic supervision and training to students pursuing a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis. Ramsey’s experiences of guiding and overseeing services provided to individuals with developmental disabilities across a variety of settings including in-home,center, public school, and preschool programs, have given her a unique appreciation for training others in the field of behavior analysis. Her primary interest is developing systems for effectively training staff and parents to implement behavioral procedures that result in meaningful changes in the lives of those receiving services.
Sarah Jenkins, BCBA-D | Home Office Training Manager
Sarah Jenkins, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA is a doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She received her doctorate in Applied Behavioral Science, with a focus in Organizational Behavior Management, from the University of Kansas, under the advisement and mentorship of Dr. Florence DiGennaro Reed. Dr. Jenkins joined Trumpet Behavioral Health in 2015 as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, working with Drs. Amy Harper Briggs, Linda LeBlanc, and Tina Goldsmith on clinical, research, and training activities, respectively. In 2017, Dr. Jenkins became the Home Office Training Manager.
Dr. Jenkins has authored four book chapters and several publications in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Journal of Behavioral Education, Behavior Analysis in Practice, Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders, and the Journal of Organizational Behavior management. She has also presented her research at regional and international conferences. Dr. Jenkins has served as a guest reviewer for the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management and Behavior Analysis in Practice.
Sarah also serves as the BACB Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Coordinator for Trumpet Behavioral Health and is the contact person for any Continuing Education Unit (CEU) questions.
Katie Hubik, BCBA | E-Learning Content Developer
Katie Hubik, M.S., BCBA, is an e-learning content developer with Trumpet Learning Center. Katie earned her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in Developmental Disabilities from Auburn University in 2009. She received her Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification in 2009 and has been working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities since 2004 in individuals’ homes, clinics, group homes, community settings, and schools throughout Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Colorado. In 2012, Katie joined Trumpet Behavioral Health as an e-learning content developer and a clinician providing clinical services to individuals with autism. Katie’s experience providing direct services to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities has put her in a unique position to understand the educational needs of behavior technicians and others providing ABA services. Katie is passionate about the effectiveness of ABA in improving lives and she loves passing on that passion to others through education and training.
Erin McVey | E-Learning Developer
Erin McVey, M.S.Ed, is an E-Learning Developer for Trumpet Behavioral Health. Erin received her undergraduate degree in Earth and Space Science and Physics Education from Illinois State University in 2008. After teaching high school physics for 5 years, she started working as a teacher professional development specialist and STEM content developer for Northern Illinois University while also pursuing a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology. Upon graduating in 2016, Erin started working for Trumpet Behavioral Health. Erin has over eight years experience developing and providing instruction both in-person and online, covering a wide variety of topic areas. Erin has a passion for providing high-quality, educational experiences and is proud to be able to support the Clinicians and Therapists at TBH who provide valuable ABA services.
Patrick Reinartz | Customer Service & Communications
Patrick Reinartz, B.A., is a customer service and communications professional working with educational and clinical software products since 2005. He joined the Trumpet e-learning team in 2009, focusing on customer care, organizational administration, and creative troubleshooting. He is proud to be contributing in these roles to the Trumpet Learning Center and looks forward to helping you have the best learning experience possible. Patrick lives with his wife in New Brunswick, Canada where he indulges in his love of music, cooking, and the arts.
Dr. Linda LeBlanc | Executive Advisor
Linda A. LeBlanc, Ph.D., BCBA-D, a licensed clinical psychologist and Fellow of the Association for Behavior Analysis International, served as Trumpet’s Executive Director of Research and Clinical Services from 2012-2016. During that time she was integral in building a comprehensive set of clinical standards, developing the company’s research function and recruiting and mentoring innumerable clinical leaders. As she transitions to Executive Advisor, Dr. LeBlanc will focus her efforts on strategic company initiatives and the continued mentorship of clinical leaders.
Dr. LeBlanc has published over 90 articles and book chapters, is an Associate Editor for Behavior Analysis in Practice and the Literature Review Editor for Education and Treatment of Children and serves on the Board of Directors of the California Association for Behavior Analysts.
